GGG Reportedly Headed to DAZN

The boxing world has been patiently waiting and it seems as though Gennady Golovkin has finally made up his mind regarding his future.

According Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger, a meeting between GGG, Matchroom Boxing and DAZN on Wednesday all but sealed the deal for the former unified Middleweight champion.

Coming off of a close and controversial loss against Canelo Alvarez, Golovkin has laid low as he weighed offers from Premier Boxing Champions (FOX/Showtime) and ESPN according to Bloody Elbow.

GGG would be yet another marquee signing for DAZN who already boast a ridiculous lineup which includes Canelo, Anthony Joshua, Aleksandr Usyk and the newly signed Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.

Golden Boy PromotionsOscar De La Hoya also mentioned over the weekend that there is “no doubt whatsover” that a third bout between Canelo and GGG will happen–likely in September of 2019.

Of course, Canelo has some serious business in front of him in the form of IBF Middleweight champion, Daniel Jacobs. And, WBO Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade could be in line to face GGG on DAZN.

But, if Canelo and GGG are able to secure victories in their next bouts, a trilogy would certainly be high drama as the two look to close their rivalry with a knockout.

An interesting point to take note of is that according to Coppinger, Tom Loeffler will not be joining Team Golovkin when they head to Matchroom Boxing and DAZN.

You may remember recently that Loeffler flipped out on Twitter when Dan Rafael, Mike Coppinger and other lesser known reporters began to drop news about GGG’s future that Loeffler deemed inaccurate and inappropriate.

No official announcement has been made regarding Golovkin’s move to Matchroom or DAZN but we’ll have updates as they’re released.
